wandbreaker: (Edmund - have you all gone mad?)
[personal profile] wandbreaker
[This is a video. This is a video of man vs. cat - the cat, in this case, being black and one-eyed, much like a ninja pirate, and just as effective. Edmund places the cat outside of his room, and after waiting there for a minute, serenely cleaning his paws, the cat goes back in the room. There is a small yowl, and a minute later the cat is deposited back outside.

And then another minute passes, and the cat returns to the room at a trot. There is a yelp - human, this time - and some mild swearing, and the cat is once more put outside.

This is now personal.

The cat doesn't even wait this time to re-enter. There's a yowl, a human yelp, and a crash!, and then the cat is streaking out of the room, and Edmund follows a minute later]

....Shadow, this isn't your room to begin with.

[And he notices the network device recording]

Oh, honestly.

It is, very much so. You have so many memories of them and they've completely forgotten all of it, so while they're no stranger to you...you're a complete stranger to them. It's rather awful, really.

[OOC: BRB, dinner!]

But you can't help that, really. And even if it does hurt, remembering when someone else has forgotten, at least there's still the chance to make new memories together in the future. That's what really matters, I think.

Oh! Er. Well, it's just that I don't usually see any reason to bring it up, honestly. There isn't much sense in making a fuss about it when titles don't mean much here anyway, and most of my other friends just go by their own names, so I do too.

...Oh, drat, that's right, I talked to you last weekend when I was a child again, didn't I? Something about dragons burning down the Library. You mentioned you were a kingly sort of knight, and I wasn't exactly secretive about being a princess.

Thank you, by the way, for putting up with me. ...Er, and I suppose that could go for the, um, whole week, really.

Does he really? And why might that be? I feel as though this is something I ought to know, since I am a princess, and I've certainly taken an interest in him.

Oh, goodness, no! That is--I do think he's very nice and all, but I'm really not interested in marrying anybody at the moment, no matter how old I am.

Well, good, I'm glad I don't terrify him. And that I don't terrify you, either, for that matter. I think I'd feel quite silly if I did, honestly.

Talking b--you know, I rather can't decide which question I want to ask first, why or how.

From the lady's hair. They just sort of--pop out and launch into a serenade?

And a terrible one! Ugh, I can't even imagine. I won't let birds do my hair, even, much less sit around and sing in it.

And unfortunately, their enthusiasm doesn't tend to make up for their lack of skill. I've learned that firsthand a few times, thanks to a curse that seems to make animals infatuated with me that way.

It's happened once or twice before, yes. I couldn't so much as look at a broom without some woodland creature racing in to do my sweeping for me, and getting dressed took me three times as long as normal because I kept having to swat away the birds that kept swooping in, trying to be helpful.

It was quite a day, believe me. Though, once I managed to persuade them to help me clean up the Library instead, it got much more pleasant to have them around. We made quite a bit of progress, all working together like that.
